Their version, titled “Our Footloose Remake,” will be out this summer and will feature scenes created by fans from across North America.

The prom theme-hosted premiere will be July 1 in Los Angeles, before making its way across the US and Canada and then will be online, for free.

Which will you prefer to see: a fun, sing-along Sweded version of the ’80s classic, or a “re-imagined” gritty Hollywood version?

“Lone Star” – formerly known as “Midland” – has been picked up by Fox for a full-season order. Janis Burkland, head of the Dallas Film Commission, couldn’t be happier, as the pickup makes the third TV show shooting in North Texas this year.

The pilot for “Midland” was shot in March, and centers around Jon Voight playing a two-timing con man working in the Texas oil industry. The supporting cast includes Adrienne Palicki, David Keith, Hannah Leigh Dworkin, Bryce Johnson and Eloise Mumford.

The local production of “Lone Star” joins “The Good Guys,” which Fox will preview on May 19 at 8:00 pm; and “Chase,” which Burkland confirms will be shooting the remainder of its NBC episode order in Dallas.

Props to Dallas for having such a busy schedule for new series to air since, well, “Dallas.”

Jackson fans in Los Angeles began camping out on Thursday night to purchase their tickets to the LA screenings, and sold out the 3,000 seats for the movie’s first night’s run, on all 14 screens of the LA Live Cinemas, within two hours.

Footage for the documentary was shot in rehearsals for Jackson’s “This Is It” series of concerts in London, which were cut short with Jackson’s death in June from an accidental overdose of Propofol.

The film also accounted for 80 percent of all US online movie ticket sales within the first 24 hours of being available online.

In London, the film out-performed sales for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” and “The Lord Of The Rings” trilogy with a whopping 30,000 tickets of single-day sales.

Japanese entertainment press reported sales topping three million yen (over $1 million) within the first 24 hours on sale.

France, Australia, Germany and New Zealand also reported first screenings as being sold out.

We all have our pet peeves. Some of us choose to vocalize those said peeves when we feel we are being disrespected. While in a Broadway preview performance of “A Steady Rain” starring Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig, an attendee’s mobile phone began to ring. Jackman decided that enough was enough and stated to the audience, “Do you want to get that?”

His addressing of the offender was met by hearty applause by the audience. When the ringing persisted, Jackman then again responded, “Seriously, turn it off.” He then proceeded to pace the stage giving the cell phone junkie a moment to silence their phone.

When the ring persisted, both Jackman and Craig entreated the audience member to answer the call. “Go ahead, we’ve all done it!” Craig shouted from the stage.

Pepsi CEO Indra K. Nooyi announced Monday in a press conference that Pepsi would no longer be spending big bucks on major advertising for the popular soda. Nooyi said that she believes that people know just how good Pepsi is. She also stated that there was not a “Cola War” between Pepsi and Coca Cola. Nooyi pointed out that anyone that said Coke tasted good was not wrong.

The money that Pepsi was spending for the marketing will now be going to various charities as well as serving as a bonus for the minimum wage factory workers employed by Pepsi.

Toward the end of the confrence Nooyi apologized for going off on a tangent and encouraged everyone to spend more time with their families. Sounds like the new face of Pepsi will be focusing on the bonds of family.

Katherine Heigl’s newly-adopted daughter was born with a congenital heart defect, or hole in her heart. When Naleigh was two months old she underwent surgery to fix the birth defect.

Heigl and her husband, Josh Kelley, were able to speed up the adoption process as a result. The couple had to fill out a 40-page questionnaire with topics ranging from personal backgrounds to parenting philosophies.

Officials in South Korea allowed the adoption to take place due to the health issues. A source told US Magazine “Katie and Josh were aware that it could take years, so they were being patient.”

News of Heigl’s adtopion broke the same day her “Gray’s Anatomy” co-star, Ellen Pompeo, was giving birth to her daughter in Los Angeles.

Over this past weekend, reality tv star mom / divorcee Kate Gosselin began filming a talk show with Food Network’s Paula Deen and several other important moms. The show will use a panel format, featuring working moms. Rene Syler (former CBS 11 Dallas news anchor) and Lee Woodruff (“Good Morning America”) will also appear on the show’s panel.

At a recent appearance, Kate remarked, “I’ve been given the gift of gab, so why not use it? It’s sort of a career move, so I had to do it.” No other details about the show, such as a name, were given.

Actress / musician / quarterback albatross Jessica Simpson has left her posh L.A. digs behind and traveled to Uganda in Africa to film the reality show “The Price of Beauty” for VH1. Details of the show other than the title have not yet been released.

However, Simpson tweeted, “WTF do I really have to sleep like this?” The singer also added a picture of her poking her head out of a mosquito net sans make-up. The next day the star appeared to be getting used to her surroundings in Africa.

On Sunday, September 20, football Buffalo Bills player Dontae Whithers home was burglarized sometime after the teams victory over Tampa Bay. Mr Whithers reported that $400,00 worth of jewelry was stolen. Because of the on going investigation, few details were released from Hamburg Detective Lt. Kevin Trask.

The details that were released did not include a possible time frame or if it were a forced entry robbery. However, Whither reported the theft at ten pm shortly after the teams victory. The only given confirmation wa that the burglary was at the home of a Bills player.

Whither described the robbery as “very disappointing” after a team meeting on Monday. He also added that no one was hurt and confirmed police dusted for fingerprints.

Incidentally , last week team mate Leodis McKelvins front yard was vandalized by teenagers after the Bills lose to New England. Detective Trask let the press know the vanadlism was a seperate incident from the robbery. Whither was only allowed to answer four questions before a Bills official requested the press move on to football related topics. NFL Players Association rep saftey George Wilson was quoted as saying “Crime happens whether you are in a big city or whether in a rural community like Hamsburg.. It’s very unfortunate.”

Three months later, authorities are not able to close the case on Michael Jackson’s tragic death. The problem lies in the decision on whether or not to bring criminal charges to the administering doctor whom was seeing Michael at his mansion. That decision is weeks, if not months away, for investigators.

The reason being they will have to track down all the doctors Michael was recieving his medications from. Not only will they have to trace all doctors, but all the pseudonyms that Micheal was using as well. Dr. Conrad Murray, Michael’s personal physician, faces manslaughter charges after the Los Anegles County coroner found traces of anesthetic Propofol and sedative Lorazepam.

Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and police are working together to reconstruct Jackson’s extensive drug history. Correlating all of the information is proving to be quite time-consuming, and the jury thinks there is no threat from Dr. Murray to the public at this time. The Los Angeles district attorney will be the one to determine whether or not criminal charges will be filed.
