Arnold Back For Terminator 5
Deadline is reporting that the governator is back in the starring seat in his biggest franchise for a fith Terminator movie. This will probably please more fans the the animated ‘Governator’ movie.
After McG’s ‘Terminator Salvation’ the franchise found itself in trouble when the company owning the rights (Halcyon) began losing money. Pacificor beat out Sony and Lionsgate for the franchise rights and plans on making more Terminator films. Now that Schwarzenegger is attached the company has begun shopping the potential film to the studios. At this point no screenwriter has been attached to the project and it will be interesting to see what direction it takes. If the new film will pick up after the events of Salvation or drop back and pick up after the events in Schwarzenegger’s last outing, ‘Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.’
Also it will will be interesting to see how Arnold is utilized, the original Terminator film came out in 1984 and Schwarzenegger was 37, now Schwarzenegger is 64. In Salvation scans made from casts of Arnold created by Stan Winston Studios combined with digital magic allowed for a cameo appearance of a 37 year old Schwarzenegger. At 64 it is unlikely that Arnold will be the cybernetic killing machine once again without stretching the suspention of disbelief too thin. But Arnold always said he’d be back and now it looks like it’s even closer to being a reality.
