‘Red’ Gets New Trailer For Comic-Con

Warren Ellis is a twisted, warped individual. He’s also one of the more prolific writers working today. When he’s not working on graphic novels or comics, he’s developing scripts for TV and film. He’s also a evil genius that infects millions daily through his Twitter feed… but let’s focus on the news of the day.

Ellis’ 2003 series Red has been adapted for the big screen by writer Erich Hoeber and director Robert Schwentke, with a killer cast: Bruce Willis, Helen Mirren, Morgan Freeman, Mary Louise Parker, John Malkovich and Karl Urban.

Your synopsis:

Red is the story of Frank Moses (Willis), a former black-ops CIA agent, who is now living a quiet life. That is, until the day a hi-tech assassin shows up intent on killing him. With his identity compromised and the life of the woman he cares for, Sarah (Parker), endangered, Frank reassembles his old team (Freeman, Malkovich and Mirren) in a last ditch effort to survive.

Since it’s the repository for all things pop culture this week, attendees at the San Diego Comic-Con got a look at the brand-spankin’ new trailer for “Red,” which the fine folks at Summit Entertainment asked us to share with you:

Don’t know about you, but the sight of Mirren with automatic weapons fills me with glee.

“Red” opens in theaters October 15.
