Final ‘Twilight’ Movie to be Split in Two Parts
I admittedly know very little about the “Twilight†saga. There’s something about vampires and werewolves and romance or something, who really knows? From reading The New York Times earlier today I picked up that the final book in the saga, “Breaking Dawn,†is easily the strangest. Apparently, “among other plot twists, the human Bella gives birth to the vampire Edward’s baby, and the werewolf Jacob becomes romantically bonded to that baby.†According to The Hollywood Reporter, the last film in the “Twilight†series will be split into to two separate films. With so many happenings, the need for two parts is understandable.
“Twilight†is following in the tradition of many other cinematic literary adaptations by breaking up its final chapter into two different films. “Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows†has two films that will be released in 2010 and 2011 and reportedly “The Hobbit†adaptation is to also be released in separate segments in 2011 and 2012.
Both films are to be directed by Bill Condon of “Dreamgirls†fame. Part one will hit theaters on Nov. 18, 2011 and the second part will follow at an as of yet unknown date in 2012.
In the meantime, you can catch the third installment in the series, “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,†opening in theaters nationwide on June 30th.
