‘Lone Star’ Now Added To Dallas-Made TV Roster

“Lone Star” – formerly known as “Midland” – has been picked up by Fox for a full-season order. Janis Burkland, head of the Dallas Film Commission, couldn’t be happier, as the pickup makes the third TV show shooting in North Texas this year.

The pilot for “Midland” was shot in March, and centers around Jon Voight playing a two-timing con man working in the Texas oil industry. The supporting cast includes Adrienne Palicki, David Keith, Hannah Leigh Dworkin, Bryce Johnson and Eloise Mumford.

The local production of “Lone Star” joins “The Good Guys,” which Fox will preview on May 19 at 8:00 pm; and “Chase,” which Burkland confirms will be shooting the remainder of its NBC episode order in Dallas.

Props to Dallas for having such a busy schedule for new series to air since, well, “Dallas.”

    It’s Adrianne Palicki (only 1 ‘e’) ;D

    Awesome news though! :)

Will it definitely be filmed in Tx (I know the pilot was) or will it move out to Los Angeles? Sounds definite.

Any word on initial number of episodes etc..?

    Congrat’s!

Well, the show will be filmed in North Texas for the entire season. Not clear on how many episodes yet. I will let ya know. :D My bad on the spelling of Adrianne’s name.

I am pretty sure that the show does NOT focus around John Voight. Voight will play a supporting role to Jimmy Wolk who plays the two-timing con man. Voight will be his father-in-law.
