Bill Condon Is Twilight’s ‘Breaking Dawn’ Director
Summit Entertainment confirmed what the film rumor sites had been positing for the last month: Bill Condon will be helming the movie adaptation of the fourth “Twilight” novel, Breaking Dawn.
Condon, who got raves for directing the stage-to-screen adaptation of “Dreamgirls,” has the nod of approval from “Twilight” scribe Stephanie Meyer. “I’m so thrilled that Bill wants to work with us. I think he’s going to be a great fit, and I’m excited to see what he does with the material.”
Condon also wrote the acclaimed screenplays for “Gods And Monsters” and “Chicago.”
“I’m very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life on-screen,” Condon said. following the close of negotiations to bring him into the sights of worldwide fans. “This is a one-of-a-kind book, and we’re hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience.”
Now that Condon is set as the director, Summit has yet to reveal whether or not “Breaking Dawn” will be split in to two movies, or have the copious amount of plot the novel features crammed into one film.
