Craven Confirmed for Scream 4

I think there’s something just terribly appropriate about horror news breaking in the middle of the night. In fact, I think they need to come out with a way so that horror news leaps out at you unexpectedly. It would be a nice touch.

Just saying.

At about 11:30 last night, the fine folks at Bloody Disgusting tweeted that Wes Craven had in fact been confirmed as the director of the upcoming “Scream 4″ after months of speculations and false starts. Of course, this news had been reported before so the first impulse was to take it with a grain of salt. Not quite two hours later, though, Craven himself tweeted confirmation: “It’s true – @kevwilliamson and I are both back for SCREAM 4.”

“Scream 4″ is slated for an April 12, 2011 release, more then ten years after the release of the last installment. All the other major players in the series – Kevin Williamson, Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette – have already been confirmed.
