Wasikowska Begins Filming ‘Jane Eyre’
Lewis Carroll’s Chesire Cat told Alice “we’re all mad here,” and Mia Wasikowska is taking those words to heart—following Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” with Cary Fukunaga’s adaptation of Charlotte Bronte’s “Jane Eyre.”
Production begins next week for Wasikowska and her co-star, Michael Fassbender as Jane and Mr. Rochester.
Other cast members for the Focus Features and BBC Films production include Judi Dench, Jamie Bell, Sally Hawkins, Tamzin Merchant, and Imogen Poots—meaning that the film will be covering the entire novel—even that middle third that most high school students skip reading.
None of these actresses seem age-appropriate for Bertha Mason, though, (or Grace Poole for that matter), so it will be interesting to see who we find in the attic…
