‘Predators’ First Look Footage Now Online

Last night, while I was watching the brilliant documentary “American, The Bill Hicks Story,” Mark Walters was at another theater catching Robert Rodriguez and director Nimrod Antal introduce a public first look at “Predators.”

The audience was told they were seeing footage no one else would get a peek at for weeks… unless they went on to YouTube and watched this assembled package:

Rodriguez also showed the audience a second batch of footage, differing slightly from the above assembly but with the same tightly-edited structure. Attendees also got to get up close (with no photography allowed) of the original Predator animatronic head, used in John McTiernan’s 1987 original.

The newly-released synopsis:

Royce, a mercenary who reluctantly leads a group of elite warriors who come to realize they’ve been brought together on an alien planet… as prey. With the exception of a disgraced physician, they are all cold-blooded killers mercenaries, Yakuza, convicts, death squad members human “predators” that are now being systemically hunted and eliminated by a new breed of alien Predators.

“Predators,” starring Adrien Brody, Laurence Fishburne, Topher Grace, Danny Trejo, Alice Braga, Walton Goggins and Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, opens in theaters July 7.
