Horror Beatdown – March 8, 2010
It’s Monday. Can you stand another horror beatdown?
Me neither, but I’m doing it anyway.
Micha Sloate Dishes on “Paranormal Activity 2″
Without a director in site and the October 22 release date looming, things are looking a little uncertain in “Paranormal Activity 2″ -land. So, when MTV caught up with Micah Sloate, the boyfriend in the original, he had some curious things to say. Said he, “I know a lot, I can’t tell you — Well, just a little. All I can tell you is I’m very excited for the project, it’s really cool, it’s gonna be really interesting and it’s not gonna suck, which most horror sequels… would. This is gonna be good.”
This is curious on at least one very important level that I am not going to go into here. If you’ve seen the movie, you already know why. If not, I’m more than happy to tell you in an email.
Seyfried to Star in Red Riding hood
Amanda Seyfried (“Jennifer’s Body”) confirmed yesterday that she will be starting in “Twilight” helmer’s Catherine Hardwicke “The Girl With the Red Riding Hood”, a gothic take on the classic Grimms’ Fairy Tale, according to Coming Soon.com. “Orphan” scribe David Johnson is penning this one. I wouldn’t be surprised if we start seeing a LOT more of these “gothic fairy tale” movies considering that a mediocre “Alice in Wonderland” raked in $116 million.
Diesel updates “Riddick” status report
Remember back in the day – about five or ten years ago – when you would get your movie news from Variety or Entertainment Tonight or some other sundry show business outlet. Yeah, me too – but if you want to know now, just check their Facebook status. Vin Diesel posted a few things this weekend to let us know how things are going on the next “Riddick” film.
“Heard from DT (writer/director David Twohy) over the weekend. He is very excited about how well Europe went, and is delivering the next draft of the Riddick script this month. Nice,”
And also.
“P.s. Will be talking to DT next week, maybe he can let me show some concept art of Riddick… Peace.”
Pretty ordinary stuff since there isn’t even a release date for this yet. More on it as we know it.
