[OSCAR] My Picks For Tonight’s Trophies – And Yours

It’s been an immense amount of fun putting together tonight’s Big Gold Statue Awards Watching Party at the Lakewood Theater – and just about as much work as I had imagined it would be. That said, I’ve been running around so much that I haven’t had time to put down, on record, my picks for “The Big Six.”

If we really wanted to be evil, for tonight’s Ballot Challenge, we would make the Big Six Categories – Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Supporting Actress – count more towards the Grand Prize, a pair of Star Passes for the 2010 Dallas International Film Festival. But, every pick weighs the same in the Ballot Challenge (one more reason to come out and enjoy Oscar’s Big Night with us).

So, fearlessly and without any trepidation, here’s my “you can take it to the bank” Big Six Picks:

  • Best Picture: “The Hurt Locker”
  • Best Actor: Jeff Bridges, “Crazy Heart”
  • Best Actress: Sandra Bullock, “The Blind Side”
  • Best Supporting Actor: Christoph Waltz, “Inglourious Basterds”
  • Best Supporting Actress: Mo’Nique, “Precious (Based On The Novel Push By Sapphire)”
  • Best Director: Kathryn Bigelow, “The Hurt Locker”

Alright, there’s mine – what are yours? We can even make this a little competition – leave your picks below in the comments, and one person at random (regardless of your accuracy, or lack thereof) will get a collectible from tonight’s Big Gold Statue Awards Watching Party: the official show poster, mounted and ready for framing, and signed by the staffs of Red Carpet Crash, The MungleShow and Big Fan Boy. Bust ‘em up!
