Terrence Malick’s ‘Tree of Life’ Gets a Release Date
Terrence Malick’s much anticipated new feature “Tree of Life†has been given a release date in November 2010. The film was slated to open last fall but is now seeing its debut over a year after.
Rumors have been circulating that “Tree of Life†is a resurrection of “Q,†a highly ambitious project Malick undertook soon after wrapping up “Days of Heaven†over 30 years ago. As of October 2009, the film has been in post-production and Apparition president Bob Bearney hinted to Indiewire that the film could be ready for a premiere at Cannes.
Sources involved in production of the film have given minimal details regarding the plot of the film. It has been revealed that it is a period piece set in the 1950s. The drama centers on the eldest son (Hunter McCracken) of two characters (Brad Pitt and Jessica Chastain) who witnesses the loss of innocence. The narrative follows the son as he becomes an adult (Sean Penn) and the impact his childhood has had on his adult life.
Malick is due to start filming on his latest work, which he has written and will direct, this fall. Â It is an as of yet untitled love story that will star Christian Bale, Javier Bardem, Rachel McAdams, and Olga Kurylenko.
