Bryce Howard Nervous at ‘Diamond’ Role
Bryce Dallas Howard stars in the Tennessee Williams written “The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond,” and this role kind of scared her. Commenting on her role to MTV, “This was the first time I was a little concerned before doing it, because I was like, ‘Oh my goodness. It’s originating a Tennessee Williams heroine. If I mess it up, it’s like literary blasphemy. It would be tragic.’”
The film is based upon a previously unproduced screenplay by the great playwright. The story centers on a 1920s Southern debutante played by Howard who falls in love with a poor country boy.
“Teardrop Diamond” opens in L.A. and New York today. Howard has a role in “Eclipse,” the next film in the “Twilight” saga, taking over the role of Victoria. “Eclipse” comes out in June.
