It’s Not ‘Kung-Fu,’ It’s ‘Karate’

Columbia Studios has dropped the “Kung-Fu” from the name of the remake of “The Karate Kid” – probably, because they realize that a remake of a movie should have the same name. The first trailer of Jackie Chan, Jaden Smith and Taraji P. Henson went live today:

The skinny on the story:

Set in an exotic Asian locale, the new film will borrow elements of the original plot, wherein a bullied youth (Smith) learns to stand up for himself with the help of an eccentric mentor (Chan).

“The Karate Kid” hits theaters with the drum technique on June 11.
