It’s Getting ‘Cloudy’ On ‘Jump Street’

A movie adaptation of the TV series that launched the careers Johnny Depp and Richard Greico is currently in the early stages of development. Columbia Pictures is negotiating with Phil Lord and Chris Miller (“Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs”) to co-direct “21 Jump Street.”

This would mark the first live-action feature for the duo. Lord made his directing debut with “Meatballs,” which he wrote with Miller.

“Jump Street” is about a group of baby-faced cops who must go undercover at high schools to stop crime. Jonah Hill and Mike Bacall came up with the story, with Bacall writing the script. Hill will star and executive produce.
