Controversies Follow Polanski
“The Ghost Writer†will now premiere in the main section of the Berlin Film Festival from Feb. 11-21. As announced earlier this week, Summit Entertainment bought the North American rights to the Roman Polanski film.
“Ghost†has potential to be controversial, and not just because Polanski may wind up in jail. The movie plants a thought nugget in your mind that Tony Blair was conned into the War in Iraq by President Bush. It even suggests his wife, Cherie, may work for the CIA.
Britain is currently investigating the war, and a lot of people, including Blair, have made some pretty shocking statements. The results of the investigation could possibly lead to trials.
With all these attention centered around what the film is about, it is likely Polanski might just be able to avoid the negative attention that accompanies having sex with a 13 year girl. Controversy creates cash, and Polanski’s film will make plenty of it.
