Broken Lizard Headlines RCC Holiday Party / Food Drive
Massive thanks to the Crashers who showed up en force for the first RCC Holiday Party / Food Drive. We collected over 150 pounds of peanut butter for the North Texas Food Bank! The guys from Broken Lizard were a lot of fun (the video from our interview with ‘em goes live soon), and a good time was purportedly had by all. Happy ChristmaChanuKwaanzAdanIvusStice, from all of us at Red Carpet Crash!
Red Carpet Crash presents the First Annual RCC ChristmaChanuKwaanzAdanIvusStice Party (or, if you’re really lazy, the “Holiday Party”) at Rockfish at Mockingbird Station Friday, December 11, 2:00 – 6:00 pm.
Three of the members of Broken Lizard – Jay Chandrasekhar, Paul Soter and Erik Stolhanske – will be in town to celebrate the release of their fifth movie, “The Slammin’ Salmon,” and they’ll be signing autographs, posing for Facebook pictures, and critiquing to you trying to work the word “meow” into conversation. Red Carpet Crash will be giving out “run of engagement” passes so you can see “The Slammin’ Salmon” in theatres for free after opening weekend. (Of course, you can still sign up for passes to the RCC screening of “The Slammin’ Salmon” at the Angelika Thursday, December 10 as well.)
We’ve also cracked open the Red Carpet Crash prize closet, and have a massive amount of DVDs, t-shirts, promo gear and screening passes to give out through the course of the party. We’ve held back some one-of-a-kind items as well. To get these prizes, we’re asking for a little something in return: peanut butter. You see, the RCC Holiday Party benefits the North Texas Food Bank, established in 1982 to address the critical issue of hunger in the North Texas area. Peanut butter is one of the highest-priority commodities for the NTFB, so we’re looking to collect jars of peanut butter in exchange for our prize closet goodies. For every jar of peanut butter you bring from 2:00 – 5:00 pm, you’ll get one ticket. Then, the person with the most tickets gets first crack at the prizes, second-most gets the second run at the goodies, and so on.
It’s an easy way to give back during this holiday season, and a lot of fun in the process, so failure to attend is not an option.
Rational Radio 1360 am will be broadcasting from Rockfish 1:00 – 6:00 pm – Pugs & Kelly from 1:00 – 4:00 pm, and Richard Hunter 4:00 – 6:00 pm. They’ll also have goodies for people who come out as well.
If you missed the shenanigans at the Boondock Saints II premiere party we threw at the Angelika and Trinity Hall, you’re probably sore from kicking yourself. Don’t make the same mistake twice.
There’ll be so many more bits and baubles of information in the next couple of weeks, so the best way for you to stay up to date on late-breaking ChristmaChanuKwaanzAdanIvusStice details is to subcribe to the RCC Announcement List, or follow us on Twitter.

Oh frabjous day! Have a soda on me. Or at least have one around so everyone can see what a non-alcoholic drink looks like.
