Swedish Twi-Hards Sway Censors
When Swedish film authorities assigned a “15″ rating to “The Twilight Saga: New Moon,” the wailing and gnashing of teeth by the series’ fanbase was loud enough to be heard in space in the halls of government throughout the country.
Sweden’s Chamber Court has relented this morning, and lowered the rating to “11,” meaning fans 11-years-old and older can see the movie without a fake I.D. Unlike the American ratings system, a movie assigned a “15″ rating means viewers under the age of 15 can not see the film in theaters, even with parental supervision.
The “11″ rating also means children ages 7 – 11 can see the movie when accompanied by a parent.
The first movie, “Twilight,” also received a “15″ rating, but appeals to the board were unsuccessful.
