‘New Moon’ Too Emo For Sweden

Sweden has given “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” a rating of 15, the highest rating in their system.

The rating means that no one under the age of 15 will be allowed into the theatre to see the movie. “New Moon” has a PG-13 rating in America. 

Although Nordisk Film, the distributor, was hoping for—and appealed for—an 11 rating, which allows moviegoers 11 and older to see the film (7 to 11 year olds with an adult), the rating of 15 appears to be firm.

To put the rating in perspective, Swedish pornography also carries a rating of 15.

The Swedes gave the movie the 15 rating because of violence and “a constant mood of anxiety.”
