It’s Finally Time For A ‘Kick-Ass’ Trailer

Director Matthew Vaughn’s “Kick-Ass” is finally seeing the light of day, with the release of the first official teaser trailer and web site. (I’ll wait a moment for my inner geek to quit going “squee!”)

Regular visitors will remember we’ve tracked the film for the last few months, from its thunderous applause at the ’09 San Diego Comic-Con, to the furious bidding war by several studios to release the film (Lionsgate won out, so their shingle’s on the front door). Now, without shaky phonecam footage or word-of-mouth fanboy description, get a load of what a real superhero looks like:

There’s not a lot to the film’s official site, kickass-themovie.com, but whaddya expect? You’ve got six months to get worked up into a lather about this movie. Your synopsis:

Dave Lizewski is an unnoticed high school student and comic book fan who one day decides to become a super-hero, even though he has no powers, training or meaningful reason to do so.

“Kick-Ass” is slated to begin doing just that on April 16.
