New Star Wars On The Way?

New Star Wars On The Way?

MarketSaw, a blog devoted to 3D movies, is reporting that George Lucas is planning a new Star Wars trilogy—filmed entirely in 3D.

The films will reportedly not be another version of the original six films, nor the TV series, but an entire new trilogy—perhaps Episodes VII, VIII, and IX like we were all promised as kids?

The website further reports that Lucas will neither produce nor direct the films, causing the rumor mill to immediately point to Steven Spielberg as the obvious successor.

Apparently Lucas feels threatened by the expectations surrounding James Cameron’s “Avatar,” another “fully articulated universe,” and is considering adding on to his own world to keep his films relevant and in the forefront.

Does this mean he’s still bitter over all those “Titanic” records?
