Trio Joins ‘Whistleblower’

“The Whistleblower” is an indie political drama based on a true story. With Rachel Weisz set to star, and Larysa Kondracki making her directorial debut, I’m already going to see it.

But now, they’ve given me more reason. Vanessa Redgrace, David Strathairn and Monica Bellucci have all joined the cast.

In the film a policewoman (Weisz) who risks her job and safety to uncover and blow the whistle on a scandal that involves American contractors and the United Nations in postwar Bosnia.

Kondracki and Eilis Kirwan wrote the film, based on the story of Kathryn Bolkovac, who traveled to Bosnia in 1999 as a U.N. peacekeeper. Shooting begins next week is Romania. The film is truly international, as it is a Canadian-German co-production.
