‘Vacation,’ All I Ever Wanted

“National Lampoon’s Vacation” came out 16-years ago. It spawned three sequels – 1985’s “National Lampoon’s European Vacation,” 1989’s “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation,” and 1997’s “Vegas Vacation.” You could even count the 2003 spin-off “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie’s Island Adventure” as a sequel; National Lampoon did.

Well, it might just be time to add one more sequel to the franchise. However, the Griswold parents would probably be too old to be the central characters. That’s why the story would follow the now-grown Rusty Griswold as he prepares to take his own children on a family getaway. There is no word yet on rather Chevy Chase or Beverly D’Angelo would appear in the film. Also, no word on which Rusty will return. Anthony Michael Hall originated the role in the first “Vacation”; my vote would be for Johnny Galecki, now of “The Big Bang Theory” fame.

The late John Hughes wrote the original film, which shared a similar plot with what the Rusty Griswold led film seems to have.

I think perhaps you mean 26 years ago or longer. Not sure exactly when it came out. Best movie about driving to California from Chicago to go to an amusement park in California only to find its closed ever.
