A New Home For Bond?
MGM’s financial troubles have been the source of rampant speculation over the last month, with keen regard to the status of the James Bond franchise, and Peter Jackson’s “Lord of the Rings” prequel.

...and turn off your mobile phones!
Now, We Are Movie Geeks has a source “close to the dealings” saying that 20th Century Fox will be the new marketing and distribution studio for the British spy’s future films.
Fox already handles the Bond video rights and international marketing, so the acquisition won’t ruffle too many feathers. That said, losing Bond outright (instead of using partner studios like Sony to handle distribution of the films) significntly lowers MGM’s market value.
The last Bond outing, “Quantum of Solace,” grossed over $580 million worldwide.
As with any report of this nature, feel free to take this with the proverbial grain of salt.
