Patrick Swayze Dead At 57

Patrick Swayze has died of complications from pancreatic cancer, according to his publicist. He was 57.

Swayze was an iconic actor with a rich resume, with roles in “Dirty Dancing,” “Ghost,” “Red Dawn” and “To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar.”

He was cast as the consummate American bad-ass in roles like James Dalton in “Road House,” or Bodhi in “Point Break,” but got to show a softer side in roles like “Dirty Dancing,” showing off his vocal chops as well with the soundtrack single “She’s Like The Wind.”

His battle with pancreatic cancer became public in January 2008, while he was working on a new series for A&E called “The Beast.”
