Your Take: ‘The Final Destination’

Since the Powers That Be won’t allow critics into advance screenings of “The Final Destination,” we’re turning to our intrepid Crashers for help. If you saw the Thursday night sneak preview of the 3D killfest, leave your review of the film below. Make your voice heard!

I thought that this movie was pretty good. VERY VERY gruesome…but the 3D is nothing like I’ve ever seen before, just little things you see that are like oh cool look at (example, NOT true; butterfly in the corner…etc.) whatever is there that adds to it. So if you can stomach it, or take someone to hold hands, it’s worth seeing :) .

    My Review of Final Destination
The 3-D effects where excellent but a bit gruesome. I do admit a few times I looked away. All of the heads in the theater jerked back at the sight of flying debris in many scenes. There were also gasps of horror at some of the horrifically violent scenes. You have not seen someone shot by a nail gun until they do it in 3-D.If you listen carefully you will hear humorous references to the prior Final Destination movies. Items like “fly to Paris” and a “beach” reference. The plot could have been more developed. The movie seemed to be series of special effects weaved around a weak plot- but the effects where enough to keep me on the edge of my seat. I recommend this movie to those who like non-stop action and some explicitly violent scenes.

Just got home from a screening of ‘The Final Destination’ in 3-D. I liked the first three much better. This one lacked in the story line. Tried to make up for it with the 3-D effects – which weren’t bad – but not enough to carry the movie. Too many things depicted that would/ could never happen. The references to the previous movies made this one feel more like a farce then a story to get into. See it if you must. Not much language – rating is more for the 3-D blood and guts and one gratuitous sex scene.

    My thoughts on Final Destination:
    Pros:
    • 3-D was great and added a new twist. I felt like I was there.
    • Non-stop action
    • Movie was true to the Final Destination tradition
    Cons:
    • Did not like the graphics (skeleton-X-ray style) in the final scene – but will not spoil it for you.
I would highly recommend this to Final Destination fans who are mature movie goers. It is graphic and the R rating is appropriate.

I thought it was ab “on the edge of your seat” kind of movie. Even though I personally cannot see 3D- my fiance CAN and he said the 3D was Great in one scene where a pole goes through someone. You’re looking at it from above and it looks like the pole is sticking straight out of the movie screen. Another scene with flying embers it looks like the embers are blowing right out at you. COOL! If only I could see 3D!

The 3D effects worked beautifully for this type genre. If you enjoyed the first two in the series you’ll flip out over this one. Of course, the story line is getting a bit well worn but still holds together, if only for the tongue-in-cheek way some of the deaths come about. For some odd reason this particular movie did not seem like the gratuitous kill-fest of the other two movies even though the story line was a little weaker. I recommend.

Devin I know of 2 logical reasons that you did not get into this screener.1. Someone from up above was looking after you.2.Whoever didn`t let you in knew that you would rip this movie to shreds in your online review (laughs).
This movie was horrible and not in the good Horrific way!!Bad acting, predictable story line, sub par 3D.Man I feel sorry for anyone that shells out the cash to see the 2d version.I actually watched Final Destination
#1 again last night, and in my opinion it is still a very good movie.I believe each Final Destination movie has progressively got worse, and this version is hard to watch it`s almost a comedy and not a horror movie. This should be Final Destinations FINAL DESTINATION if you get my drift. 3.0 out of 10
