Enough Already! Poltergeist Remake Coming Next Fall
Remember that horrible, sick to your stomach feeling when you heard that Gus Van Sant was going to remake “Psycho”? Or that vaguely uncomfortable feeling you got when you found out that “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” was going to be given a facelift? Or how about the dry heaves that knotted you up for days when they announced the white-trashing of “Halloween” by Rob Zombie?
Well, buckle up, kiddies: it’s happening again.
Shock Till You Drop is reporting yet another horror remake in the works. This time, Tobe Hooper’s “Poltergeist” is the victim of Hollywood’s reboot madness. Vadim Perelman (“House of Sand and Fog”) is slated to helm with the writing team of Juliet Snowden and Stiles White (who also wrote such fine ventures like “Boogeyman,” “The Need” and “Knowing” – yeah, read that and not cringe) penning the screenplay.
Look for a Thanksgiving 2010 release.
You may begin weeping now.
