Cohen’s Next Act Might Be Uncharted Territory

Once Sacha Baron Cohen finished and released “BRÜNO,” fans wondered what his next move would be. According to one source, it could be something brand new.

We’ve already seen Ali G and Borat in films, although Ali G was in a long-form scripted film and not the guerilla documentary style that “Borat and “BRÜNO” excelled in. Rather than going back to that well, Britain’s The Sun reports that Cohen’s next mockmentary will be with a brand-new character.

The rumor is that Cohen and producer Dan Mazer have crafted a hopeful Eurovision song contestant. (Eurovision’s song contest is a legendary international music challenge, dating back to the late 1950s.) With both “Borat” and now “BRÜNO” turning a nice profit internationally, coupling Cohen’s “leave no sacred cow unslaughtered” filmmaking with an international institution like the Eurovision song contest seems like a winning combination.
